Re: IBM Flex Fonts Fail to Load

Downloading with MS Edge gives me a 108 KB File which opens without error in FontCreator 11.5.0.2422. This is misleading. You must have opened each link and clicked on the download button. Using Edge, Save target as.. saves an HTML file. Apologies if my description was confusingly brief! When I sai...

Re: IBM Flex Fonts Fail to Load

The problem is with my browser. The latest Vivaldi Snapshot is not getting the whole file for some reason. Downloading with Opera 12.18 works fine. I get the same error when trying to open IBMPlexSerif-Bold.otf downloaded with Vivaldi 1.14.1077.55 (the newest stable channel version). The Vivaldi do...

Re: Restore from minimized to screen

MainType takes about 10 seconds to start up here, which isn’t bad given that there are more than ten thousand fonts in my library, but I would appreciate an option to reduce the occurrence of accidental shutdown. Saving a few tens of megabytes of RAM isn’t a major priority for me.

Re: Restore from minimized to screen

In conjunction, I would like the option to have the close box (upper right x in the title bar) simply minimize instead of close MT. So if in the Options I have MT set to minimize to the system tray it would also work with using the close button. Of course, using File | Exit would still close MT alt...

Re: Linotype vs FontShop

The ITC Officina Complete Family Pack (as sold by Linotype) contains 20 fonts, not 10.

What's that Chained Context Positioning that I see on the dialogue? As Stephan wrote in his earlier post: Chained Context Positioning is OpenType GPOS LookupType 8: Chaining Contextual Positioning Subtable whereas Contextual Positioning is OpenType GPOS Lookup Type 7: Contextual Positioning Subtabl...

You’re welcome. :)
Gunny wrote: Sun Mar 04, 2018 10:06 am I see that the page now even includes direct links to the old installers so I don't have to use the form.
Yes, that’s why I said the email “will also” include the links. ;)

Re: A vague complaint - upgrades, old installers, etc.

The older versions seems to be hidden in a secret place or something. The secret place is the page where you go to retrieve lost registration codes ( Support > Registration Codes ). If you submit the form, the email that you receive in response to your request will also include the relevant link/s.

Re: Disappearance of small letter i diacritics when clicking composite icon

I'd be interested to know if there are any other languages that use it. Bookmark the site that I referenced. The Letter Database . It is a useful resources for such questions. I've always regarded the presence of ı in a piece of text as a clear sign that the language in question is Turkish! I'd be interested to know if there are any other languages that use it.

Design of Spacing for x-height Petite Capitals

Dumbledore wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2018 1:46 pm I added what I thought were small capitals, only to find out later that I had added petite capitals, and I still don't know what the difference is
As I understand it, petite capitals should be optically aligned with the x-height but small capitals are noticeably taller.
