The ^ is already mapped, just draw in the signature area. The grave accent ` is a character that is not available right now. We expect to release Scanahand version 2 very soon. Although the Basic Edition will also contain a two page template, your required grave accent is not included there. However...

Your font is a Symbol font, so it should contains glyphs which represent symbols, and those glyphs should have matching postscript names like ornament1, ornament2, etc.

So, no there is no automatic way of adding "Symbol Char" names.

Re: Postscript Names in Symbol Fonts

I have encountered a problem that people who use FontLab complain that my Symbol fonts are invalid -- even the simple ones! That of course can't be true!! It isn't at least not with FontLab Studio 5.0, as that assigns postscript names to all empty glyphs, e.g. .notdef.009 for glyph with glyph index...

People already are invited to post their fonts (a link to a font file, art work, or any other means) created with our software in the Gallery forum. For now we don't see any need to make this more prominent.

For now just use one or more Windows Explorers to manage the font files. You can create folders and move/copy font files to the groups folder. MainType will be notified about these archive activities, so you can combine forces this way. I know it's not as powerful as a drag & drop support in Mai...

You can't move or copy in the tree view folder structure on the Browse pane. We might add such enhancement in a next release. However this should work: Drag one font from the Browse pane, then move it over the caption of the Groups pane. Now the Groups pane will be activated, and you'll be able to d...

To run MainType on Vista, it requires advanced privileges. So when you start MainType, User Account Control will ask you permission to start the application. Probably for security reasons Windows won't allow drag & drop from a non elevated application to an elevated application. We'll try to fin...

Somehow I always assume people are talking about OpenType and TrueType fonts. The fix in version 2.1.1 was not related to PostScript Type 1 fonts, I should have mentioned that. I just noticed the problem only occurs with Type1 fonts. TrueType fonts remain loaded after reboot, just nice. These post a...

1. On what basis does FontCreator decide to check a code page checkbox? It should include a code page when at least one glyph is mapped to the code page. But for some reason it doesn't work that way... I'll look into this issue, and for now move this post to the Bug forum. 2. Does it do any harm to...
