The MainType application window minimises just fine.
If you're talking about minimising the detached panels within MainType then no such option exists.

My understanding may be incorrect. In which case i am open to other suggestions as to how I may connect two glyph (two letters) with a ligature without having to assign a key for that ligature. I am not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but I wouldn't be surprised if your understanding is inco...

I like easy questions. :) Just change the version to 2 or 3. I think I should set the MaxContent value to 3 for my fonts as they have ligatures like ffi and ffl. The maximum length of a target glyph context for any feature in this font. For example, a font which has only a pair kerning feature shoul...

Re: Combining Vertical Line Above
The SIL font uses smart font technology to position the diacritics correctly. When you type an i followed by a combining line above, the smart font features automatically combine dotless i with the diacritic and positions it correctly. To take advantage of the advanced typographic capabilities of th...

Re: Lack of hinting information?
Lack of hinting information? I set the setting is the same to Times New Roman, and Hinting Information is the same, too. But it is still not enough black in M$ Word. What setting is the same as Times New Roman? If you made the font yourself in FontCreator, or copied glyphs from another font, then i...

I have trouble with the auto-kerning. I find that having a preset list much easier. Either I end up with too many, too few, or it won't even let me auto-kern so many at once. :) I'm still relatively a newbie so I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong when configure the auto-kern settings. The autok...

If you're using the Professional edition of FontCreator, you can use the automatic kerning wizard. It will generate all permutations. One of my main gripes about this is that it generates lowercase/Uppercase pairs, which are generally not needed, so have to be removed afterwards to reduce the work l...

Garava has been updated to version 2.1. The updated fonts have OpenType features for Ligatures, Petite Caps, OldStyle Figures, Superscripts, Scientific Inferiors, and Nut Fractions. The kerning pairs were extended and improved again with the help of the latest version of FontCreator 5.6, which is no...

I think the most useful would be an option to resume from last time — i.e. viewing either a folder in the browse pane, a group in the group pane, or the Active fonts pane. If you want MainType to start fast, you would then only need to remember to close it when viewing a small group or folder withou...
