Although I am a touch typist, I think the mouse is much faster for this task. Use the lasso tool for awkward cases. You can also use shift to add/remove points to/from a selection with the selection tools.

Press shortcut "P" to display up to 256 selected glyphs (IIRC) in the Preview Toolbar. Cut and paste from there to get them into the Font Test Window (or into the Comparison Toolbar).

I could be wrong, as there are an aweful lot of character sets in the Unicode standard, but I don't think they have an assigned codepoint. You would have to use the Private Use Area. Do you know of any fonts with these symbols? I thought I had seen them somewhere, but I don't see them now in Minion ...

By “The Preview Box” do you mean the Preview Toolbar (shortcut F8 ) or the Font Test Window (shortcut F5)? Either way, try changing the sample text. If you're still getting only boxes then the characters are probably not mapped. Start a new font and cut and paste the glyphs to the right place would ...

Because the default template font has a CapsHeight of 1434. Why 1434? Because that is what my Garava font uses. If you look at a variety of commercial fonts you will find a range from around 1350 to 1550. There is no right or wrong value — the value you need to use depends on the font design. To lea...

I wonder why do you need to do that? Anyway it is not difficult.

Select the point, press shortcut W to go to the next point, right-click and select "First Point." The previous point will now be the end point.

I agree that the disappearing toolbar behaviour is not so good, though there might be a better way to solve the problem.

How about a calculator toolbar within FontCreator?

No. Don't unintsall all of the fonts, just those that you don't use regularly. Do not uninstall Windows system fonts even if you think that you don't use them.

Group your other fonts, and load the group for a particular project.

You should Load the fonts that you don't need every day instead of installing them. Then they will be gone after a system restart.
