Re: Help with Open Type Designer

BTW, because I am ultimately embedding the fonts in my epubs, I need fonts with an open license and they are either woefully lacking in the character sets or over-abundant. Since the Gentium book basic is limited to Latin (it is fairly small but still has a lot of Vietnamese transliteration charact...

Re: Use of Fontcreator glyphs

Sorry, I guess I was making a big and unjustified assumption that everyone on the forum wants to provide their fonts free for the benefit of others.

I am aware that many people do it for a living and so want to profit from their endeavours but I guess I just forgot temporarily.

Re: Use of Fontcreator glyphs

<sigh> ... I was merely making the point that Kelvinch is free for anyone to do anything with apart from sell it (unmodified), I was not trying to imply that I was giving special permission to use the glyphs, that permission is written into the license. I thought Kelvinch was under the SIL Open Font...

Re: Use of Fontcreator glyphs

The same goes for 'Kelvinch', please feel free to download it and use any of the glyphs modified or unmodified in your own creations.

Re: Help with Open Type Designer

Which characters do you need?

There may be codepoints with precomposed accented characters already in Unicode for some or all of them.

Re: Kelvinch - a font for body text.

I have just updated Kelvinch on Deviant Art and on Font Space to version 3.3 , I changed the ligatures to make them work better with Microsoft Word by misusing contextual ligatures, I re-kerned the whole thing and optimised all the curves resulting in considerably smaller files. I didn't optimise th...

Re: Typey McTypeface

I know, that came about because they started off in two different look ups and I was too lazy to combine the two. In normal typing I don't use ligatures very much (not at all until I designed Kelvinch). I have been playing about with ligatures in Typey testing the font in Microsoft Word and seeing w...

Re: Typey McTypeface

Just updated to version 1.3. (also updated the file in the previous post)

Corrected a fault in the lower case 'p' in both upright and italic.

Re-designed the lower case italic 'z'.

Everything else is just as it was.

The link to deviant art is still valid and points to the new version.

Re: Typey McTypeface

Sorry, I didn't update it on this forum but on Deviant Art where I posted it for everyone to download.

It's at http://fav.me/dafdyhm

I also added the four Cyrillic characters which have recently been included in Windows Glyph List 4.

I just updated the name to 'Typey McTypeface' as it should have been all along if it weren't for my dyslexia. :D

Typey McTypeface

I have made another font. This one I have called Typey McTypeface and it is a font for Arctic Sailors ( if you don't know what I'm talking about then point your web browser at your favourite search engine and search for 'Boaty McBoatface'). :) This started life as the 'Chelsea' font by Dieter Steffm...

Re: Union/Intersection/Exclusion contours issue in version 10

I too am having some trouble with the union/intersection/exclusion feature in version 10, it seems a lot more picky than version 9 but usually there is a workaround. I think the problem is with coincident edges, edges which follow the same path (especially when they are going in opposite directions)...

Re: font ligature problem

Sorry, I don't know. My version of Office is 2007 but I do have access to an Office 2013 installation, I will have a look when I'm next on there (if I remember).
