Re: Cheriton Hand and Martha
You could run the font validation wizard if you have the Pro version to get rid of some of the intersecting co-ordinates and off-curve extremes. These are rather hard to spot at normal zoom levels. The accent on Ô grave is one of them. I forget where this one was. Intersecting co-ordinates.png The H...

Re: Cheriton Hand and Martha
You will see some clipping in Martha.ttf if you look at the font test window. The lowercase å ring has the accent way too high, and there are a few other problems with the position of accents on other composites like Ź acute, Ã tilde, and í acute. Correct those little problems first, then go to Form...

Re: fill fonts
Just an educated guess — you may have to wait for a developer to tell you for sure — but I suspect that the flood fill begins filling from the first node on the first contour, contour 0. You can show/hide the first/last nodes from the toolbar, and hide the fill to make them stand out more. Typing sh...

Re: how to post a sample here
Select the image in CorelDraw and Export as image (JPG is best).
In the message reply box select the "Upload Attachment" and browse to the image file on your hard drive to upload it.

Re: Are OpenType and budget software incompatible?
I have not used Serif WebPlus Starter Edition, but it looks like it will serve well to meet my needs. do you all know if there is a mac version of this software. If there is not a mac version, is there something like it on the mac side. Thanks for your help. There's no Mac (or Linux) versions of an...

To change the sample text, just select the style from the Sample pane's drop list:
To edit the default text for any of these default text samples, to add or delete text samples, or to reorder them in the list, you use the Options dialogue, Text Samples.

AFAIK you're elligible for a free upgrade, but you might need a new registration key. Either send an email to Erwin or wait for his response.

Re: Having different sizes in one font
The first problem you have is that Humanist 521BT is a commercial, copyright font, so you would have to ask Bitstream Corporation for permission to edit their font. I doubt if they would give it. Bitstream Humanist 421 Regular.png So, look for a GNU license font with similar appearance, that you can...

Re: Tip of the Day
Changing Straight Lines to Curves In the latest version of FontCreator one can simply drag the centre of the line, but one will still have to fix off-curve extremes, so this method is still useful to know. First add a node between the start and end of the line with the shortcut "a" Conver...

Re: Changing Straight Lines to Curves
You can select multiple nodes — both off-curve and on-curve nodes that comprise an entire line (or several lines), then drag them together. Use marquee select to drag around nodes with the mouse, or the lasso select tool. Hold shift and click to add individual nodes to the selection, or shift click ...
