Re: History like in Photoshop

Undo lists the currently available undo one step back. Much different than history. As Bhikkhu Pesala's screenshot shows, Undo displays a stack of undo steps. Having worked with history panels in other programs, I do prefer them, but I think Undo/Redo stacks work reasonably well. Problem for me is ...

Shouldn't the italic angle control be disabled when the 'Italic' checkbox is unchecked? :?

Re: Discrepancy in Values

Ah. I just wonder where that comes from or how to avoid it. I create my glyphs in Corel Draw, then export them as eps files. In Corel Draw there isn't such a thing like off curve points. All points are always on the outline. In most vector drawing applications, off-curve points are represented as c...

Re: Tool to measure font colour

If you have an image editor with an 'average blur' function you can use that to gauge the relative amounts of black and white in an image, but I can see it quickly becoming tedious to do this for every glyph in a font!

Re: Red Circle/Button

The OP specifically mentions ACaslon-Pro, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if MainType isn't yet equipped to cope with the new OpenType variable fonts such as Bahnschrift. I think we need Erwin's input on this one!

Re: Red Circle/Button

According to the manual , a red ball means "The font is loaded by an external application and MainType cannot determine where it is located. The font cannot be unloaded through MainType." As far as I know, the only fix is to delete the font from MainType (without also deleting it from your...

Re: New User - Can't Figure Out How Remove Fonts from My Library

I'd been using FontNexus, which is not a bad program (in fact, since it's free, I'd recommend FontNexus for any average Windows user who downloads fonts but doesn't need a font manager professionally), but it doesn't use a database and doesn't cache the font previews so any time you select a "...

I see you've been hoisted to the title, Top Typographer! Kudos, you deserve it!

Thanks, Jonne. I think you and Mike deserve that accolade rather more than I do, but it's obviously Erwin's call. (I did send him a PM at the time, suggesting that his standards must be slipping!)

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

Thank you for the suggestion but, my handwriting and art skills are nothing special and I would like the fonts to be created from existing engravings and photographs. It doesn't require either handwriting or art skills! If you save a copy of the template as a GIF image , you can use your favourite ...

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

I am looking to hire someone to make the most simple font, numbers 0-9. I have been unable to find the exact font, so I need to make it. If you tell us which version of FontCreator you have and show us a picture of how the numbers should look, I'm sure someone here can guide you through the process...
