Re: Transform Toolbar: Position Tab

It works fine for me in contour mode. In point mode, I find that the first edit works OK, but in order for any further changes to 'take' I need to click in the glyph edit window after pressing 'Apply' in the Transform dialog.

Re: Adding OpenType features: Long GSUB Strings

My copy of Ligatures 004 seems to lack a glyph for the 'sh' ligature. Have you added some new glyphs since then? Thank you for your interest. Yes, I added the sh ligature because I did not have an sp ligature that was in the High-Logic default template code from which I started, so I changed it. He...

Re: Adding OpenType features: Long GSUB Strings

I have now made a font Ligatures 006 with the following OpenType code. script latn { feature DiscretionaryLigatures; feature Ligatures; } feature DiscretionaryLigatures dlig { lookup dligSub; } lookup dligSub { sub c t -> c_t; sub s h -> s_h; sub s t -> s_t; sub colon colon one zero zero one six co...

Re: FontCreator 7 and fonts made otherwise

When making a quote where one emphasises some words, a usual practice is that one puts (my italics) after the qoute [sic] in order to show that the person quoted did not use the emphasis as it appears in the quote, but that the emphasis is made by the person writing about the quote. I suppose that ...

Re: FontCreator 7 and fonts made otherwise

With my experiments thus far I have started a new project in FontCreator 7 and copied glyphs over as just artwork with an ordinary paste, not a paste special, rather than risk trying to make a project file from an outside font before gaining some experience in producing working OpenType fonts using...

Re: Glyph Names I can understand

I have just installed the new version. Could you say for what I should be looking in relation to the effects of these new files please? William The details are in Erwin's previous post: I will upload a new version later today which contains the following change: When you start FontCreator it will l...

Re: Where are Patches Saved?

Thanks — close, but no cigar. On Windows XP I found it in: C:\Documents and Settings\Bhikkhu Pesala\Local Settings\Temp\ Well, Erwin did say "E.g."! :P It's C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temp on XP, or C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Temp on Vista or later. In all ...

Re: OpenType liga ligatures and the test window

Thanks, Erwin. I hadn't seen that because I've been clicking the little black triangle next to the 'Export' icon on the Standard toolbar, and there's no 'Export Settings' option on the dropdown list. (There's also no hintline text for the export options, on either the toolbar or the File menu.)

Where is there an option to enable/disable the custom script?

Re: Open Type Question

Ok. The font works beautifully in InDesign. It is working neither in Photoshop nor in Illustrator, however. Baffling. But at least it's working somewhere! Could it have anything to do with the direction of the contours? Most (all?) of them are the wrong way around. If it still doesn't work in PS or...

Re: Open Type Question

I attach my version of the Sqwash project file so that you can see how it can be done with less code. I have stripped the lowercase subs, and left the uppercase ones, as its more usual to have a font with no lowercase, than no uppercase. Both code-points for "A" (65) and "a"(97)...

That's interesting. The rlig UI suggestion is that the feature should be active by default.

Re: Feedback panel that a font has been exported successfull

Maybe it is just me, but I quite like feedback when a task has been completed successfully. Maybe it's just me, but I feel that it's enough to see a confirmation dialog when I try to delete a file. That dialog tells me all I need to know about the nature and scope of the deletion, so I don't think ...

Re: Open Type Question

I think I can attach the source code separately. Oh. The extension otlfd is not allowed for attachment uploads. Sorry... :) If you would like to post the source code, you could try copying it onto the clipboard from the FontCreator 7 OpenType Layout Feature Editor window and then paste it into the ...

Re: Open Type Question

Another lesson learned: Case matters. And since my font is uni-case (same glyphs for caps and lowercase), I'm guessing that means I need to do the 110 substitutions in both lowercase and uppercase... Rough way to learn Open Type!  Case most certainly matters! Think of 'Ccedilla' and 'cc...
