Truetpe fonts are scalable, that is why there is no setting for height. The height of letters will depend on the point size that you choose in applications like Word. 5 mm = 14.17 points, but the height of the actual letters are typically less than the point size, because accents like ¨ in Ä have to...

There is a button on the Transform toolbar, bearings, to set x=0

There is also an option on Tools, Options, Fonts, to set x=0 on saving files.

Maybe you know a way to lock the Metrics while working with and editing a Glyph ??? Or maybe Erwin knows an idea ???
The same method. Copy the glyph or glyphs to the clipboard in overview before editing the glyph, then paste special when you're done to paste back just the metrics data.

I assume this can be done with Font Creator. What are the steps?
Format, Settings, General, Font Embedding - Licensing Rights, Edit

The Information is shown in MainType, Information, Metrics, Embedding, but cannot be edited there. Fonts can be sorted by the "Embedding" column.

If you open the font in Font Creator, and go to Format, Settings, Ranges, Code Pages, Edit, you can see which code pages are covered by the font. I think Windows 1250 CE is the same as Latin Extended-A Central European (which is shown in Font Creator). The C caron is decimal 0268 and 0269 Čč which c...

Any code page contains a fixed number of selected glyphs from many different Unicode Blocks. The Samples toolbar contains user definable text samples such as the ANSI character set, which also contains a fixed number of selected glyphs from many different Unicode Blocks. You could easily add a new t...

You should be able to do that with the Samples Toolbar. I cannot test it on Windows ME which has some limitations, but you should be able to create a text sample consisting of all the glyphs in any code page if you want to check the code page coverage. Any glyphs not supported will show up as the no...

Yes. The order does matter, or you will need twice as many kerning pairs to allow for the case when the cantellation mark is typed before the vowel. Think about the kerning of English capitals LAT and LTA L and A don't require kerning, but A and T do. So do T and A. If the vowel is kerned negatively...

Perhaps I made a poor job of my answer.

Search the forum for the word "Signature" to find previous answers to this question, and read the dozen or so threads containing that word.

1. Yes, you can place the whole signature in one glyph
2. Select 12 point in Word
3. Create a symbol font

A search for signature will reveal several helpful threads.

Yes. One can use the Glyph Transformer which is available in the Professional Edition of Font Creator and in the 30 day free trial that you have presumably downloaded. Sans Serif fonts are easier to transform than Serif fonts, and those with even strokes are easier than those with a high contrast be...
