I noticed some oddities with the LSB and advance width. Sometimes that info is pasted and sometimes it doesn't appear to do so. But I haven't really been back into FC doing a similar thing since the first post.

Make a couple rectangles (or other shape) that spans across the parts you want removed. Select both shapes and use "Get exclusion of contours" command. Delete the extra bits.

However, unless you have specific permission, that is a copyrighted font. You should be using a font, perhaps one from Google Fonts, FontSquirrel, etc., that has explicit permission to edit and rename--and they usually need a rename.
