I ran disk repair utilities etc with no success.
I became fed up with the whole matter and chose instead to rename
the font and the font file and abandon the old files.
Still if anyone who understands windows fonts has an
explanation I'd be interested to hear it!

I downloaded the Font properties extension, version 2.1 from http://www.microsoft.com/typography/TrueTypeProperty21.mspx A left click on the installed font opens the advanced properties page giving me the new version number for the font. A right click on the installed font gives me the OLD version n...

Can't install modified font

Hebrew Font
I have developed a Hebrew font. You can read about it and view some examples on http://mikethompsonpaintings.com/font . (You don't have to have the font on your machine to look at these examples as they are JPG files.) You can download my font "Mike Hebrew" by clicking on http://forum.high...

Left bearing and x=0
BEARINGS. I looked at a number of common latin fonts such as Arial. Most characters have the left bearing at x=0. Also most characters have quite a bit of space on between the left bearing and the left edge of the glyph. Also there is a similar amount of space between the right bearing and the right...

Kerning does not show
I added kerning to my font using [Format]->[Kerning]
but it does not show after installing the font.
I installed and displayed the font with The Font Thing.
Can kerning be disabled in some way?

No replies! maybe that means there are no answers to my question so I have been doing some research myself. http://mikethompsonpaintings.com/stroke_test.gif In the above example, I have made a single test character consisting of five stroke at angles 130, 120, 110, 98 and 95 degrees. Then I displaye...

Angle of guidelines for clarity
I'm developing a font with no vertical or horizontal lines. Guidelines are great! I use a pair of guideline for either side of the stroke. Based purely on my scanned and imported bitmaps of hand-drawn glyphs, these strokes are at the following angles: 170, 98, 20 I case you are trying to visualize t...

glyphs in sample bar are too small
I would like to build my characters from components with the components in the samples toolbar. I would cut the characters from actual glyphs, polish them a bit and then use them as widely as possible. The problem is that small components look like a list of ill-defined dots and I can't tell which i...
