Re: MyFonts rejects fonts created from FontCreator?

I cannot fathom the reason for the delay from MyFonts. Seems pretty stupid on their part. Their delay makes it seem as if they have an agenda.

Re: Wonderful

Erwin, This is by far the most useful font editor that I have ever used--and I have used just about everything. But this latest version is simply wonderful for the time-saving of the OT feature editor. I have spent a lot of time with drawing for others, more than the scripting part of it. But beginn...

Re: International Character problems

Do be aware that for a font to be active in an Adobe application it doesn't actually need to be installed in the OS font folder. I would recommend that she removes all versions in all locations. Reboot and start PS and see if it still available. If it is, there is a copy in the Adobe font folder or ...

Re: International Character problems

... but I only had "script latn" in my code to start with. Then I added "script DFLT" thinking maby that was the problem. Of course, it didn't fix it, but maby I am missing something else? Any application should be able to utilize the latn section. Glyphs might only be available...

Re: International Character problems

Who knows. It should work in Adobe applications if it works in PagePlus. Is it possible the customer has both versions loaded?

Yes, indeed. Came through my newsfeed the day it was announced. Another one of those instances I had no idea he was even still alive!

Re: Testing Unicode Characters

Leon, This issue of glyph substitution in LO/OO was debated 10 or more years ago. Last I knew, everyone's bug report or enhancement request was turned down as a Will Not Fix . Are you using Windows? Consider purchasing the previous version of PagePlus (which is X7) if you are doing anything beyond b...

Re: Font used in this image

Hi Dick, That's the URL from inside the font but beyond hitting the website to make sure the URL was valid, I didn't look through it. It may have been made/released for Apple. Dunno. I have it on a backup drive from a Mac I had to have for one client. I don't know how exact the OP needs/wants a matc...

Re: Font used in this image

Extremely well done, Dick. I have been looking on and off for the past day. I have no idea if there is a PC version or not. It was installed in iOS 7 and is a TrueType Collection consisting of a regular and bold style. There is a minimum of western language support as it is an Indian script font. Th...

Re: Where Are Adobe TypeKit Fonts Stored In Windows

Why do you think you need access to TypeKit fonts? It isn't legally permitted to access them outside of CC applications.

Re: Inexplicable Behavior: Font Test Shows Different Font

That was me who stated that. Never had an installed font that the display is clipped not output correctly. At least in XDP, coreldraw, indesign or Ai. Haven't ever tried a word processor if that's what you are using. Almost bought the font bundle just to try it and see what's up for sure. Still migh...

Re: Inexplicable Behavior: Font Test Shows Different Font

Calculating the metrics will resolve the issue. Looking through the font for the lowest decender and setting the windescent manually to that amount or a tad greater will resolve the issue too.

Re: Lower Case y, p, g, etc Are Cut Off

At least here and on other user's computers, CD X7 broke again with update 5. Here's Samantha as shown in CD: capture-003383.png Here it is in AI. Note the active cursor extends down to the character with the largest descent: capture-003385.png The problem with many of Laura's fonts is that the WinD...

Re: Lower Case y, p, g, etc Are Cut Off

It's not specifically true that a font design should not extend above or below win ascent/descent. A lot of script fonts do for a reason. Depending upon the application the display will be clipped but print or pdf should be correct. The reason some script font authors extend them past is for interpl...

Wonderful

Just wanted to post a note saying thank you to Erwin & Crew for FC9. Upgraded yesterday and made use of the new OT feature window most of the day. Great improvements throughout the application.
