Re: Suggestion for Metrics
I think it is an exercise in futility and likely to cause more confusion than good. Especially how this really cannot be easily automated in FC to move one from another. DTL OTMaster 3.7 Light (DTL=Dutch Type Library), which is the free version, can display in a table the values you seek to see. cap...

Re: What do you use for "Preview Text" for Auto-Metrics?
Auto-metrics affects what will happen with auto-kerning. If one uses both, that is. Auto-metrics' preview text string basically does the same thing as auto-kern, just with respect to just side bearings as regards the Preview Text string. So the preview itself still has a good mix P & r is a good...

Re: What do you use for "Preview Text" for Auto-Metrics?
At only 20 characters, Preview Text is just fine as it does match up a few "important" characters/combination types. I've used it for a quick fix now and again. But I think auto-whatever generates too many classes than ideal and/or too many single character classes.. In general I spend mor...

Re: Join contours can cause unwanted contour changes
I don't know if this helps or not. Ccedilla has two curve handles under the tip's node. If those are gotten rid of either manually or due to what happens when the knife is used (it removes the two curve handles), then the join operation succeeds.

Re: What does "Outline Issues" mean?
The outline thing simply means (in my experience) that part of a glyph extends way outside the LSB, RSB or both.

Re: How to convert 3/4 to proper fractions?
Chris wants arbitrary stacked (nut) fractions.
There is a sample font for this named nutso & nutso2. It's a bit more involved than arbitrary regular fractions.

Re: Color font best practices
Sorry I wasn't clear. I have little issues with non-colored fonts. The largest family of 6 styles I recently finished have 5289 glyphs each and even with all of them open, there is little hesitation in opening/closing, choosing to view only a given tag, etc. The hesitation is there and is greater th...

Color font best practices
I have a color font being made and have an issue I cannot resolve via the help system. There are 240 main glyphs thus far. Two more sets of the colored parts for a total of 720 glyphs. My question is, how does one effectively produce another color variation so I can use stylistic sets for the user t...

Re: How do I Create Alternate Fonts?
I think that the OP wants the calt feature to cycle through alternates automatically like in this Glyphs tutorial:

Re: Automatic re/creation of code-points
Thanks - I've been adding them in the wrong way, then. Oops. Your help is very much appreciated. The Insert Glyphs method works for given circumstance, too. Just not for what you want. Personally I found it confusing at first. And I still choose the "wrong" choice sometimes. It's the &quo...
