Re: why are some glyphs missing from ttf?
The Private Use Areas are big, there is no need to appropriate anything from another language (that may cause confusion to programs which try to assess the language support by glyph coverage). Three private use areas are defined: one in the Basic Multilingual Plane (U+E000–U+F8FF), and one each in, ...

Re: why are some glyphs missing from ttf?
If they are included in an open type feature then they should be 'used'. Another way of making them 'used' is to assign them code points in the PUA (private use area).

Re: Export ".Rand" by default
I have found that the rand function works in some applications but not others. Perhaps some shaping engines don't implement all open type features.

Re: Tamil Troubles
I don't know why you are no longer on TypeDrawers, but that is the place where experienced typographers meet and provide help. Because those 'experienced typographers' (i.e. the professionals) don't like giving help and support to those typographers who make free fonts. They are elitists. If you ar...

Tamil Troubles
I have now included Tamil into 'Munson'. Most of it works quite well. However I then tried to incorporate the pre-reform characters into the script as well. I first tried adding them as Stylistic Alternate1, but when used in a word processor or a DTP program they didn't come out, the characters stay...

I meant a Windows PC which could run all the Windows only programs along side the Mac to run the Mac programs.

Re: Trying to create a Conlang with specific parameters
Sorry, I had the exact page in the manual but when I follow the link it just opens the manual at the beginning.
It is under "Editing Fonts > Format > OpenType Layout Features > OpenType Designer >"
It seems like there is no way to link to a specific page in the manual.

Re: Change Direction
There is already a 'Fix Contour Direction' option in the Transform Wizard. But if you aren't wanting to fix the directions but to change the directions then maybe Erwin could make the change direction button work when multiple glyphs are selected from the Glyph Overview Panel. I can't see this featu...

Re: Some of my characters are not smooth when publishing
Another way around this would be to convert the outlines to quadratic in Font Creator and then deal with any lumps and bumps before exporting the font.

Re: Ordinals 1st 2nd 3rd etc as OpenType feature
Munson uses four single glyphs for 'th', 'st', 'nd', and 'rd' so yes you can put a ligature substitution table into the ordinals feature and it works. Take a look, the first two subtables are for the 'o' and 'a' substitutions but the third subtable is for the British and American ordinals which I s...
