Re: OpenType liga ligatures and the test window
The font test dialog uses a common Windows control that doesn't support all OpenType layout features. Fortunately the web font test page (CTRL-F5) has way more support (depending on your browser). So let us know your results.

Re: Windows keeps reactivating fonts?
They are all OpenType TT fonts. Examples are Berlin Sans FB, Brush Script MT Italic, Chiller. I think they may be default Windows or Microsoft Office fonts. These fonts are indeed included with Office 2010. You better ask Microsoft, but I do remember years ago when I started Word, it did automatica...

Re: Delay activating fonts in InDesign 4
Does InDesign 4 immediately recognize fonts when you install them directly through Windows fonts folder?
If not, then I'm afraid your copy of InDesign (from 2008) is not fully compatible with Windows 8.

Re: Open Type Question
The ligatures must be defined as new glyphs, so add three more glyphs, import the outlines from Illustrator, resize them to the right height, then use the Glyph Properties toolbar (F3) to rename the ligature glyphs to ir, jr, ra, etc., and click Apply. To avoid potential conflict with Unicode names...

Re: Glyph Names I can understand
We need to include the Euro indeed. Thank you for letting us know.
For now you could manually add it to the glyphnames.dat file.

Re: Glyph Names I can understand
We weren't sure which one is correct. Lambda is decribed here:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambda
3BB also mentions it:
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0370.pdf
Should it be changed back to lamda?

I guess not. Next time I'm traveling I should not try to post a quick answer...I will give an answer when I'm back in the office.

Re: How is Optical Metrics stored?
It will only affect the left and right side bearings of a predefined subset of characters. Since kerning pairs depend on these bearings, the actual positioning of the pairs will be affected, but the kerning pairs themselves remain untouched. So in general it is best to first ensure the metrics are c...

Re: Hinting in FontCreator 7 TTF / OTF
The auto hinter rounds the x height to the pixel grid, with a slight preference for rounding up. There is not much room for adjustments there, so I wonder if you can show us a sample of the original font, and the one exported by FontCreator 7 so we can better understand the problem. E.g. is this hap...

We show significant updates on the history page. The current maintenance releases are important as they contain bug fixes, but there are not enough changes to make it worthwhile to show them there.
