Updated to Version 2.6

Added some more kerning pairs for Caps > Small Caps.

Removed glyph substitutions for some characters: £$¥()[]{} from the Small Caps features, and retained them only for the Caps to Small Caps features.

AFAIK you're elligible for a free upgrade, but you might need a new registration key. Either send an email to Erwin or wait for his response.

The first problem you have is that Humanist 521BT is a commercial, copyright font, so you would have to ask Bitstream Corporation for permission to edit their font. I doubt if they would give it. Bitstream Humanist 421 Regular.png So, look for a GNU license font with similar appearance, that you can...

Changing Straight Lines to Curves In the latest version of FontCreator one can simply drag the centre of the line, but one will still have to fix off-curve extremes, so this method is still useful to know. First add a node between the start and end of the line with the shortcut "a" Conver...

Re: Changing Straight Lines to Curves

You can select multiple nodes — both off-curve and on-curve nodes that comprise an entire line (or several lines), then drag them together. Use marquee select to drag around nodes with the mouse, or the lasso select tool. Hold shift and click to add individual nodes to the selection, or shift click ...

Take a look at Rebus Script from Ascender Corporation. Just have a read of the bumpf to see how it works. It might give you some insight into contextual ligatures.

Re: Glyphs that change when typed with another glyph.

1. Just start a new font, accept the default "Include outlines" if you want a few numbers and punctuation characters just to get you started, then create your new design in the space reserved for "c" or "C" as you wish. 2. The only practical way to do this is to use Ope...

If you want to use your fonts professionally you will need to purchase FontCreator Professional. It is well worth the extra for the level of automation it offers. If you're a professional, then you know that time is money. As I am a Buddhist monk, time is not a pressing issue for me, but I still lik...

Re: Allow Complete Composites from Glyph Edit Window

Thanks for fixing this.

These little things add up to a lot of time saved and easier work-flow.

Just one click on the toolbar instead of Select all, delete, then click, or exit glyph edit window, complete composites, and then reopen the glyph edit window as I used to do.

Re: Assign Keystrokes to Glyph Font Creator 5.6

This is not something you can do in FontCreator. Keyboard mapping is either something to do in Word or in Windows, by using the keyboard layout creator.

See my Custom Keyboard that I use for typing accented characters: ā ī ū etc.
