Hello Dave, :? Your post didn't give us 'food for thought' but a veritable banquet. Most of my fonts are not precisely drawn and I have never noticed any difference after giving blanket permission to validate and repair all glyphs. I'm intrigued to know what changes occur that would make you trash a...

A work-around is possible. I split up the image using the free application. for dicing images, Shoestring's Image Dicer. The program is really aimed at creators of web pages and is designed to optimise the speed-up of image display. *I* can use it so it must be easy to use!: http://www.ziplink.net/~...

Thanks again Pesala (hope it's not too familiar a mode of address?) :? This certainly makes the font more usable in very many languages, some of which I know nothing about. I have left the font simple (see my edit in the last post) but there is no reason why others should not have a choice. We can't...

Thank you both for your replies and advice. I've accepted all of it and adopted all except the change of digit 9 glyph which has to remain as it was for reasons other than aesthetic considerations. Excellent advice indeed. The new font is TUFFYMH4 available here . I wish I were as knowledgeable and ...

Public Domain: New font for teachers.
I followed Mike Thompson's tussles with his MikeHebrew font, here, in the FC forums, and in the newsgroup comp.fonts. A postage stamp is far too large on which to write what I know of Hebrew fonts, but I wish I could help him. I hope he succeeds in his quest for a solution. So, thank you Mike, this ...

I too would like to be able to synchronise open windows but they would be Edit windows . Very often I work with two fonts tiled vertically. The fonts might be entirely different fonts or perhaps two copies of the same font; it matters not. I regularly step through the fonts to compare, or maybe, alt...

Very pleasing handwriting and a very commendable first font-making result. Handwriting is personal and no person has a monopoly of taste; there can be no rules about handwriting. All that can be said is that if it is aesthetically pleasing to you then it is fine. I notice that you have a missing apo...

FC5
Tell me please. Is it wise to install FC5 over the top of FCP4 or should I uninstall the old first and have a 'clean' install?

Hinting of both 'flavours'
There is a very thought-provoking post to the newsgroup 'comp.fonts' which can be read as indicated below: Click here. I do not know how this applies to TFT flat-screen displays but I am quite happy with a high-resolution CRT display and font smoothing. I do realise that some people wish to have hin...

Hello Mike,
No definitive solution yet and mine definitely isn't! I had a similar problem previously but not the same. See:

Hope you rectify the problem.
