Re: Problem with > in Autometrics

Erwin,
Sorry I did not understand you. What I meant to ask was
what glyphs does optical autometrics process? True I can see them in
the window as they briefly pass by, but I might miss seeing some of them.

Re: Problem with > in Autometrics

I'm using Autometrics again and have searched for the list of characters that are processed by default. Pretty sure I saw it somewhere... Could someone please post the list again. Autometrics is a bit overzealous and I'd like to write a transform script to undo the (few) results I disagree with. Mike

Re: Fonts in use in Venice

Great idea William,
I may use it to explore Hebrew fonts in Tel Aviv! (Without need for a plane ticket!)

Re: Transformer: Outlines->Position

I am applying the same transforms to the regular and the oblique. The spaces to the left and right of the letters (sidebearings) are all vertical rectangles. However for oblique letters the sidebearings should also be oblique parallelograms! poor_spacing_b_365x88.jpg In the example the same OpenType...

Sidebearing for italic fonts

The above dialog took place with regular fonts in mind. The sidebearings are vertical rectangles. I'm happy with the functionality of the Transform Wizard in this respect BUT I have just realised this does nor work for my italic fonts! Is there some way of detecting the extreme left (or right) hand ...

Re: Transformer: Outlines->Position

Bhikkhu - Thank you! My problem was irratic behaivior which came about in a surprising way... Two other glyphs in the transformation script had typos in their codepoints and produced very strange effects on the glyphs I was looking at. Now I know to do a Find on codepoint id of any glyph that misbeh...

Transformer: Outlines->Position

What exactly does this transformation do? Having tried it, I don't find it obvious.

I want the resulting location to be independent of the initial position.

Role of [Enter] in dialog box.

I have been entering a lot of data into the Transformation tool. How many times have I pressed [Enter] at the end of a line of text? A lot! Each time I get a warning reminding me I'm about to leave the dialog box. Now I know its a MS standard but I suspect it was a standard agreed on before the majo...

No break space and soft hyphen

These two characters in my fonts show up with grey backgrounds in a wordprocessor: screenshot_nobreakspace_and_softhyphen_451x112.jpg This is with Vista and Application Open office Writer 4.0.1 In Word 2007, it's a bit different with no grey background, but the soft hyphen is not seen at all! Do I n...

[FIXED] Search Fails

Open the Open Type Layout Features window and enter Control F, then
whatever you search for, nothing is found.
The problem is that you have to select the script window before you do
the search.
Small stuff but not friendly.

Re: Open Type Layout Feature Editor

It would be good to have a log file which would contain the lines of script that were being executed. There is a visual feature in VOLT that is intended to show how Open Type is working, for instance to show the results of substitutions as they happen but I have not found it helpful. Maybe it would ...

Re: Open Type Layout Feature Editor

vanisaac! Are anchors essential in OpenTYpe GPOS? Since I have used VOLT, I had to define anchors as they are there in the user interface whether you like it or not. However... I have not consciously used them or been aware of benefitting from them. Say I have a mark below a glyph - and the mark is ...

Open Type Layout Feature Editor

Allow cut and paste of Output Wiindow. I don't fix bugs the moment I find them but I want to record what happened in my list of things to do (a long list). Allow for scrolling the Font Overview Window when behind the Open Type Layout Feature Editor so I can find the correct spelling of the glyph na...
