Re: Can you identity these fonts/something similar to them?

Font #1 is similar to the one in my screenshot attached to this post. There are other (very different!) fonts also named 'Autumn', but you can download that particular one from here.

Re: combining characters, 2 become 1

If you usually want "th" to be displayed as "th" and only sometimes as a fricative, use the dlig feature. Just as an FYI, 'dental fricative' is a phonological term ('dental' as in teeth and 'fricative' as in friction, indicating that you produce the sound by expelling air with t...

Re: No grey glyph for semicolon in the glyph overview window

If I start a new project and don't include outlines, there are no grey glyphs for semicolon, middle dot, fraction slash or hyphen-minus. The font used in the overview is Arial.

Re: Preview panel

By the way, I have just realized that the top bar of the preview panel in your image is a much lighter colour than the top bar of the preview panel in my images: why is that please? That's simply because I'm using the default theme on Windows 7, so the windows are 'skinned' differently from those o...

Re: Preview panel

The reason for the request is that it would be helpful in building up the text for pictures such as the following in WordPad and then be able to copy and paste them straight into the text box of the preview panel. http://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?p=20151#p20151 Also, it would help with bei...

Do you really need different line lengths? You can easily limit the overall line length by adjusting the size of the preview window.

Re: 3d glyphs

Actually the shape that I have used in an illustration in a pdf, using an illustration produced by exporting a png from Serif ImpactPlus 5, is a 3d shape that is an extruded 2d shape. If it's an extruded 2D shape, a 2D font already contains all the information you need apart from the depth. You can...

Re: 3d glyphs

I have been using the Serif ImpactPlus 5 program for some years. One use was that I used it to make a virtual 3d model of a specially-shaped pasta piece, the idea being that that shape of pasta piece would only ever be made in gluten-free pasta, which would be a useful provenance check for people w...

Re: Statusbar display of the coordinates of a point

If you click and drag to move multiple points, the 'Move(x,y)' coordinates at the left-hand end of the status bar should tell you all you need to know. You can hold down the Shift key to constrain the movement to the horizontal or vertical.

Re: Character Map for Open Type Fonts & a code?

I haven't used CorelDRAW since version 3, twenty-odd years ago, so I'm hardly in a position to offer first-hand experience, but I found this page and this YouTube video which I hope may prove helpful.

Re: Dowloading Files from the Forum in Opera

Is this an incorrect MIME type issue that you can fix, or just a bug in Opera that you cannot? Probably the former. Both Opera and IE perform 'data sniffing' on files which are not served up with the correct MIME type. If someone can tell me how to show extensions in Windows 7, that will also help....

Re: Colour font previews

I previously got Emerald as having R=18: that was by going from CMYK as typeset in a Pantone publication to RGB via Serif PagePlus X5. While preparing this reply, having noted your comment about no red in Emerald, copy and paste from the Pantone colour finder page to Microsoft Paint then using the ...

That's an interesting idea, William. What would be the benefit of 'per project' sample text? :?
