Re: Notify Me upon Replies

Upon further investigation of this problem, I have concluded the problem is caused by my ISP, AT&T Worldnet (i.e., domain: att.net) intercepting and not delivering emails sent from the Forum. When I changed my email address to any other with a different domain name, I received the email alert. S...

Re: Virtual Helvetica Fonts Appearing

Upon further investigation into the matter of my post, I find that a similar behavior is being exhibited by MainType for another Type 1 font: Times . As with the Helvetica font, this font was provided by HP for my Laser Jet printer. Its .pfm and a .pfb file sizes are 1,806 and 32,976 bytes. Installi...

Re: Virtual Helvetica Fonts Appearing

Dave, thank you for your thoughts on this matter. I do not follow how your Wikipedia reference relates to my problem. [BTW, you should edit the url to include the ending “)” as otherwise the hot link fails]. The Wikipedia reference only has to do with which fonts are displayed in an HTML page. I do ...

Re: Notify Me upon Replies

Thank you for your response.

I again did not receive an email alert when you responded to my post.

I have changed my email address to one with a different ISP. Would you please be kind enough to post a reply to this message so I can test the notify feature. Thanks.

Re: Notify Me upon Replies

I enabled my notify option to test this feature. Make sure the email address that you provided is not block replies as spam. I again did not receive an email alert when your responded to my post. I get email alerts at this address from other forums I belong to, so I doubt my ISP is flagging any mes...

Virtual Helvetica Fonts Appearing

I recently noticed the following strange behavior that has me baffled. I have a Type 1 (postscript) font ( Helvetica by Adobe). This font was provided by my printer manufacturer (HP) with my Laser Jet 4M printer, along with 34 other Type 1 fonts. As with all Type 1 fonts, there are 2 associated font...

Re: Windows Installer Wants to Re-Install an Installed Font file

I have come across several applications with similar problems to the following. I have an application which I install (onto a PC w/ Windows XP). Although you didn't mention what application, I guess the application is the cause of the error. The specific application for which I provided the cited e...

Windows Installer Wants to Re-Install an Installed Font file

I have come across several applications with similar problems to the following. I have an application which I install (onto a PC w/ Windows XP). As a result of this installation one or more font files are installed into the standard Windows font folder (i.e., C:\WINDOWS\Fonts ). [For example: MININ_...

Loaded Font Retained After Logging Off

I am running Main Type 2.1.1 on a Windows XP Pro PC. 1) I log in as an Administrative User account (e.g., Jill), and I load a True Type font (e.g., Papyrus.ttf). I then logoff as Jill and switch to another Administrative User account (e,g, Jack). The Papyrus font loaded by Jill is still active. Shou...

Running Main Type in a Limited User Account

Does anyone have any ideas on how to run Main Type while logged in as a Limited User Account? I know that one can use the "Run As" feature and provide the user name and password of an Administrative Acount User, but that procedure has many shortcomings: 1) The Limited User must also have a...

Erwin, You really did not answer the question. If the Font Icon in the Groups Tab can show the shortcut indication for an installed font, why cannot the Font Icon in the Active Tab also show the shortcut indication? As you stated, that shortcut indication does tell the user the font does not reside ...

Font Icon Display

The Font Icon displayed in the Groups tab indicates the font file is a shortcut file by displaying the arrow in the lower left corner of the icon. The Font Icon displayed in the Active tab does not have this indication for fonts that were loaded or installed from shortcuts. Why not? This would be a ...

Administrative Rights w/ Limited User Accounts

I would like to manage fonts (with Main Type) while logged in as Limited User Account. Without using the WinXP feature "Run As" is there any other way I could give Main Type the Administrative rights it needs to run in a Limited User Account environment? Perhaps by defining certain policie...
