FWIW, I like Bhikkhu's idea for a visual comparison of two fonts.

Is there any way to add notes about the font in the extra space, or does that get too messy?
I second the request for this (assuming it is possible), or some other way of storing info about fonts.

I was actually thinking of requesting this enhancement too. It's great, since all I use is shortcuts.

The pace of upgrade releases has been amazing :!:

Yippee :D

 So I assume that, in addition to the original problem I had that prompted this, I could set up the groups so that everything is a shortcut, and that way I can keep the font files organized in directories which are unrelated to the groups.

One font -- more than one group?

I am trying out MainType to see if it will serve my needs, and I have a question. I have some fonts which I need to have in more than one group. In the font manager I'm using now, this isn't a problem. But as I understand it, MainType puts a font into a group by actually moving/copying the font file...

The square points are "on-curve" points and the round ones are "off-curve". If you right-click on the point, you can change which kind it is.

Nice. But the Israeli currency symbol (Unicode $20AA) is backwards: it should be flipped so the part with the opening on the top is on the right. It is based on the two letters that form the Hebrew abbreviation for "new shekel" (or "new sheqel"), so the order of the two parts is ...

Most Hebrew fonts include Latin characters, which Mike said he didn't want to do.

I have the DavkaWriter fonts in separate files named MikeHebrewDBold etc. It is a lot of work to support so it will get a lower priority than Unicode however I do hope to eventually get them done (maybe even before Davka Corp embraces Unicode). In Davka's defense, Unicode has its own problems, and ...

First of all, I don't think that the omission of the Latin alphabet is such a big deal; and yes, including it would mean a lot of extra work. As for additional characters, here are my thoughts:  Currency-symbols: £ is probably useful. I don't see any need for any others (you already have $, €...

A few days ago, I had the chance of downloading my fonts onto a laptop used by an Israeli. It had a Windows operating system and Hebrew/Latin keyboard. I opened Microsoft Word and used it to type a simple New Years greeting in Hebrew. This worked fine. Do you have any idea why it worked? What mappi...

Since Mike hasn't answered this yet, I'll field it for him. The problem with Hebrew is that there are lots of different mappings that have been used for it -- seven-bit, eight-bit DOS, ANSI, Unicode, proprietary mappings, .... (This is also true of other non-Latin scripts.) While Unicode is now supp...

Just to confirm and expand a little on Bhikkhu's answer (all values below are hex): Basic Hebrew characters are in the Hebrew block (0590-05FF). This includes trop (Biblical accents/cantillation marks), vowel diacritics, Biblical punctuation, the Hebrew alphabet, Yiddish additions to the Hebrew alph...

 Another idea (if you don't have too many characters): Map your characters to Hebrew Unicode values. Windows will think it's Hebrew and make it go right-to-left.
