Re: FontCreator v6.5: USELESS without font hinting!
Without screen shots we cannot see what you are seeing. Without the font, no one can help you get better results. What OS are you using? What applications have you reviewed the compiled font in? It could be argued that every time High-Logic adds improvements to one of their applications that "t...

Re: Unmapped, Copy/paste, adobe only glyphs
If you have a pre-X6 version of CorelDraw, you may or may not be able to access the glyphs. And likely some of the below options will utterly fail in versions before the X series anyway. But a couple things... One, if you have BitStream's font manager installed, you *may* be able to access them, cop...

Re: Database management
Yes, I use that as the option. I get a lot of Ignored fonts. I would prefer that MT simply integrates a rebuild of the database. Even if it was in the FMSConfig utility application. I don't care. Programming an application that is using a database without being able to internally or externally manag...

Database management
Old chestnut here... It would be handy to be able to deal with the database without an uninstall/reinstall. A Rebuild option is really needed. And perhaps it can deal with the ignore list at the same time. It would also be handy if there is an option to delete a font it would be removed altogether f...

Font icon in Windows
Ok. I am brain dead. I redid the kerning in a font for another creator. I mostly make and alter fonts on a contractor basis, and this is the first time this has happened... The TTF font icon in Windows is showing as a symbol font. The original shows the font preview. All I did to this font is add ke...

Re: Import and size issues
Well that is what i did the first time, but the compression went from 1,055 to 1,005 kb so zipping didn't compress it at all. Or is there a way to make it compress better ? The validation toolbar in your screen shot explains why the toolbar button to correct the contour direction is greyed out. i d...

Re: New to font creation
I would like to add something about the 3 items that Bhikkhu lists that Fontlab can do versus FontCreator. #s 2 & 3. The only product of Fontlab's I like is TransType. I have used Fontlab and TypeTool (and Fontographer before Fontlab. I used versions when owned by both Altsys and Macromedia). Tr...

It would help if you listed several of the fonts not working for you in the off chance I also have them so I can check.

Re: Changed drive; fontcreator can't find itself
Applications simply do not like being copied, and in most cases, application movers are also prone to error. Reinstall. And you may have to go so far as to put it back on your drive F and uninstall first.

Re: Fonts supposedly loaded by an external application
Ok. I finally got rid of them (there was a couple others not shown as well). Actually had a single application they showed up in other than MT. But all other applications didn't show them. Ran CCCleaner, rebooted and didn't rid Windows of all these phantom fonts. But it did a couple. Deleted Windows...

Fonts supposedly loaded by an external application
Getting pretty tired of this. I uninstalled MT 5.1 because of one font family that always shows up with the Red state icon. I deleted the font from every location on my harddrive--indeed, I never have installed it. There are technically 4 variations of the 4 ARB listed fonts. Two each OTF and TTF, t...

Re: Character Map for Open Type Fonts & a code?
Hello Jacki, Once your text is entered, highlight a character or characters. There will be a downward arrow below the text. Please note if you highlight the enter text string that the downward arrow is darn difficult to see and use. But then, I only change some characters. I think this is a flaw in ...
