Re: Kerning problems
Not sure, but I think you maybe misunderstood what I was trying to say. On every screenshot both lines are the results of the same settings. It's just being displayed differently, depending on where I test it. The font test window puts out something different that the preview window in the Open Type...

Kerning problems
I'm encountering some weird things with kerning. 1) I wanted the space before and after vertical bars to not be so big, so I added kerning pairs "space/bar" and "bar/space". Same for broken bar and double vertical line. The first two worked fine, but the double one doesn't. 57174...

Yes, that would be a way too.

Re: Capital Spacing (cpsp)
Non retarded apps ....   I'm totally sure my font's gonna be used by Word users mostly. It's an elementary school font and many (elementary school) teachers here aren't exactly computer wizards that give programs they don't know a chance. However, you sure made a point with the chick...

Re: Capital Spacing (cpsp)
Thank you both. Then I guess I won't bother wasting time on it. It's really a shame that a popular program like Word doesn't support more features. I also don't understand at all why kerning is turned off by default. I didn't know anything about kerning before starting to get into font design and on...

Re: Capital Spacing (cpsp)
Hm, it would still be good though to make it work in Word because most people that will use this font work with Word for the most part.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what that means.Bhikkhu Pesala wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2017 6:06 pm I am sure that Capital Spacing (cpsp) will work too if you use GPOS lookup.

Capital Spacing (cpsp)
I just discovered this feature and I'd love to use it because writing with caps only my font looks a bit too tight for my taste. But it seems that Word doesn't support this - at least not by default. Not sure yet about other applications. Is there a way to activate that feature in Word (like Kerning...

Re: Space Diacritics?
Ah, now I understand! It definitely makes sense for a font that's supposed to be used in all kinds of languages. I just tried that g with the tilde with Arial and it's really misplaced.
Thanks for your patiences, I've learned something new now!

Re: Space Diacritics?
I'm sorry, I guess I still don't get the sense of it.
Does this mean using anchors is an alternative for manually creating all the characters with diacritic marks?

Re: Fonts not working in Windows 10
I've been googling a lot about this and I have also found out by now that the Creator's update is the reason for this. People on various forums said that their fonts work every other time they boot their computer, so every day they have to boot twice in order to make them work. For me that wasn't tr...

Re: Space Diacritics?
@PJMiller - This is not exactly what I was as asking about, but it's very interesting. I didn't bother finding out about anchors yet because I didn't think I'd need that feature. I used "Complete Composite" to create my characters with diacritic marks and it worked really well. So what I d...

Space Diacritics?
I've come quite far spacing my font now, but I don't quite know what to do with the diacritic marks. They are used in the composites and placed correctly above the letters, but I don't guess they'll ever be used on their own. So do I even have to space characters like grave, acute, dieresis .... at ...

Re: Typo Line Gap
No, the calculated Line Gap value is at zero anyway, so that's alright.
I just worried that the Typo Line Gap at 205 might make the space greater than I want in whatever program might use this value.
But I guess if hardly and program does use it, I'll just ignore it.

Re: Typo Line Gap
Oh well, for some part it's enlightening, but some parts confuse me even more. What I still don't understand is, what will actually happen if I ignore the calculated Typo Line Gap value of 205 and set it to 0? I really don't want the space between lines to be any bigger than what I see in the test f...
