Glyph Index values can change depending on the font sort order, so they are not useful. In the font sent to me, the quotes were mapped to these values: 00CC, O0DD, 00CF, 00D0.

Re: Can't see apostophe oe quotes

William wrote:If those options are in force and no cells have been deleted from the font nor any glyphs added to the font, then the glyph index values of the four cells to which you need to add glyph designs are as follows.

$00CC
$00CD
$00CF
$00D0

The answer is in the other thread. The quotes were incorrectly mapped.

Thanks for sending the font. The smart quotes have incorrect mappings. Those codes given above by William are not mappings, but Glyph Indexes, i.e. just the numerical code (in hexidecimal notation) of the glyph's order in the font. (Edited this paragraph to correct my error. William did not give the...

Those are the smart quotes. WordPerfect or other wordprocessors will substitute them whenever you type straight quotes.

If reinstalling the font still doesn't work, you can send my your font for testing.

That's right. To uninstall a font you have to go to the Windows\Fonts\ folder and delete it.

The safest way to work is to save your font somewhere outside of the Windows Fonts folder. Don't edit installed fonts at all.

Uninstall your old version from the Fonts folder, then reinstall the latest version. Keep backups of both old and new versions on an external drive or USB stick.

Then you have not defined the smart quotes yet, but only straight quotes.

This seems like a simple misunderstanding. The extended ANSI characters are on page two of the Basic and Extended Character Set template. You have to fill in both pages (you only need to fill in the accented characters that you want in your font). Typing ñ á é í ó etc., requires a suitable Windows k...

You probably need to reinstall the font and/or restart the application. What application is it? Do the quotes show up in Wordpad or Word?

Creating Composites in the Home Edition The Home Edition of FontCreator doesn't have the Complete Composites feature to create composites automatically, but if you just need the usual ANSI characters it is not hard to do with copy and paste. Step One 1. In the glyph overview, copy the base characte...

There doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with the font. Take a look at this earlier thread on deleting the font cache. If you're still using version 5.0 of FontCreator, I recommend a free upgrade to version 5.6 It helps to use composites for accented glyphs. Less work, more consistent desig...

You may need the Premium Edition. I don't see the ASCII 96 grave accent. The ^ is available in the Standard edition — just draw it in the place reserved for the signature.

There is no problem doing that with MainType. Have you tried? Just select the fonts and select "Generate web-based collection of fonts" from the Tools menu to generate an HTML catalogue with the selected fonts. You can also generate a font list in Rich Text Format using "Export Font I...
