Version 7.0.0.396 has just been released. Update through FontCreator, or get it from our download page.

For now we'll only include the digits. We will probably add more characters in a future release.

I consider it a bug, as I believe Optical Metrics should indeed average the advance width of all digits. I'll see if we can include a fix for this in the next upcoming release.

It uses a simplified version of the Optical Metrics which is now part of FontCreator. It works best if you have a full character set, meaning at least a-z and A-Z and 0-9.

As soon as you try to export, test, or install a font, you should first see a dialog which explains only a subset of all charcters is saved during the evaluation period.

Thank you for the additional information. We've identified the issue, and are now trying to find a solution for it.

I hope we are able to release a new version that solves this issue later this week.
