First Experience with MainType Plugin for InDesign CS5
Salvete! It has been a long time since I posted here! I just upgraded to Adobe InDesign CS5 and want to try out the new MainType 5.1's plugin. So, here is my first experience with it. In InDesign, I see a menu with "Plug-Ins" that has only one item, another menu, "High Logic" whi...

Re: Show Group entries in "Columns"
Hello, y'all! I hope nobody has forgotten about this idea! I still don't see it in Build 417.

Re: Installing fonts from non-font-folder locations
That is understood. But there are reasons why I, the USER, remove them. If I remove a font it is because I don't want it there. If I think a certain program requires that font then I would not remove it. But I want to be the master of my system. For example, I don't like "Ravie" and I don'...

Re: Option to get code point from character
But what if it is some character that I have no idea what its name is? I only happen to know the name of the ae character because I looked it up in the unicode charts. What I am suggesting is that MainType could have the feature to FIND that name.

MT slow to display some fonts
Hello! I like to use those decorated initals fonts. They are complicated fonts and often have path errors. I know this. MT seems to have a difficult time displaying them and it slows the loading process of the entire font list, even if there are only a couple of these certain fonts in the folder. At...

browse -vs- groups
Hello! While organizing fonts, I found myself in the dillemma of how to do it. I like the idea of font groups named "Western", "Crazy", "3D", "Gothic", etc. But why should I not just do this in the browse tab? If I just move the fonts to folders in the browse ...

Re: Installing fonts from non-font-folder locations
Now how do we keep Windows (especially Mico$oft Office) from reinstalling the fonts we have moved out of the Fonts folder? If I move them out it is because I don't want them there, but M$ seems to think they ought to be there anyways! Could we include an option in MainType to prevent this?

When is the next version coming out?
Hello! I have been using MainType for over a year and still haven't seen a new version! When will it come out? I am sure we have saved up from the forum lots of improvements for the new version. I am quite eager to see some of them implemented.

Option to get code point from character
What if... we had a dialogue box or input box somewhere that we could paste in a character (unicode!) and Maintype would tell us the code points for that character. For example, the other day I copied an accented ae character from another application and I could paste it well enough into MainTypes &...

I have found consistently that if you have the font selected (open) in MainType that FC won't be able to save the font. If you select (open) any other font in MT, then you will be able to save the font in FC and then return to MT - it *is not* necessary to close FC. I am not sure if it is a Windows ...

Shift select for points.
Wouldn't it be nice if, while using Q and W to select points, you could hold shift to select more than one point? Right now you have to drag the mouse-box over several points to select them. But shift-select is common in most other programs.
