If you don't see a sample, then the "sample font" doesn't contain that specific glyph itself, although that is very unlikely. So I suspect the glyph has misses the codepoint. In your case $3B, as that represents the semicolon character.

You should actually use the Sample pane for this.

We should probably allow sizes up to 256 points. I'll add this to our to-do list.

It actually works the opposite way. When MainType locates fonts, they are added to the Vault. Deleting them from the file system won't remove them from the Vault. Sounds logical to me. In the past we made ot way to easy for people to make Symbol fonts. Now we still support it, but it is more hidden.
