Do them one at a time if you wish. Next you will need to MAP each new glyph. Right click on the glyph, and se...

Re-Name Groups
 How about keeping the Groups tab as is with two exceptions: 1. Re-Name it to File/Compare 2. Have it open in a new window along side Active or Browse. We decide which panes we want open. This would take care of my compare needs AND free up the Groups Tab for your new function for it of using ...

How about Columns?
Hi Yehuda, I emailed Erwin about this. Here is his response: > At present, Browse and Groups are both doing the same thing. Yes for 95%. > Windows allows shortcuts so you can get to the same place from different > starting points. I think that is what Yehuda is refering to. That would > be a great i...

Address
Hi Amber,
You didn't leave an email address, so you probably never got my private message.
I should have paid closer attention, as now it is possibly too late to help. Sorry.

2 step Clean-up for Scanned-in glyphs
Cleaning cruddy Scanned in Gylphs Scan, copy to ClipBoard, Paste into FC Editing Window. Scan, Copy, Paste. Scan, Copy, Paste ... Oh no!! Scanned images often contain unwanted background junk. Comparing
I only need to open two (more would perhaps be nice) files at the same time and use Windows to present them Parallel, Horizontal, or tiled. :!: MT already allows adjusting panes for whatever portion of the font file I happen to be interested in at the time. Usually, I need to examine various incarna...

Straightening crooked lines
slight imperfections in shapes are interpreted as on or off contour points. In the glyph editing window, switch from contour to point mode and make sure the beginning and ending points are on contour points. Use the mouse to highlight all the other points on the line and press delete. That will conv...

Helps
Hi FNG, Fonting is a whole new world of words. Open FC, click on Helps at the top of the page, Contents and Index, Index, and type in the word you aren't familiar with. For Kearning, "ke" is enough to pull up a list. Select Kearning and you will get a full page with visual examples. A smal...

Units/em - Screen VS Print

Yep!
I had been playing with FC for almost a year before I ever heard of hinting.
Most of us are still stumbling over typical 'new guy' artifacts.
That is why I wrote "Welcome to the club!" ... and a FUN new neat hobby!

Hi Scott!
Welcome to the club! There are legal problems with messing with fonts like Arial, so you would be safer using my font downloadable from the tutorial section, or some other free font. http://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?t=986 Probably the problem you are seeing is from "hinting." You ...
