And very well it works too.
Cut, paste, all in proportion. No need to resize anything.

Re: Albers Combinatory Letters
Here's where I am with my Josef Albers inspired typeface. I've called it Kombi. I was originally only going to do lowercase (which was all I'd seen previously) but I decided to do digits and uppercase aswell as some basic punctuation. I know P22 do a version so I've deliberately avoided looking at t...

Re: How Do I Move the Bearing Guides?
Sorry for the late reply; I've been working away. Thanks for the help. I'm still having no luck. All of my characters get resized to the same height when I paste them into Font Creator. I've followed your steps to the letter and I get a font with every glyph the same height of 2048 somethings. :( Al...

Re: How Do I Move the Bearing Guides?
Thanks for your reply. I've read the sticky threads and I don't see anything that answers my questions. I'm still utterly baffled (imagine a martian came to Earth to complete his driving test having never seen a car but with a copy of the Highway Code). I presume the vector ( a ) I have pasted has b...

How Do I Move the Bearing Guides?
Okey dokey, my turn to be pointed in the right direction. I'm struggling to find the basic tutorials my shrivelled brain requires. I have my vectors in AI. I am able to drag my first glyph (a) into the correct window in Font Creator and it is automatically positioned on the baseline. Now I am stuck....

Re: Albers Combinatory Letters
Thanks for the link. That was what drew me to Font Creator in the first place as an editor I couldn't use in conjuction with AI is of no use to me.
I'm plodding on with the digits of Albers's combinatory letters today (in Illustrator). Sticking to my original rules makes creating a 3 quite tricky.

Re: Can a font go bad???
Over 3 years too late but I've just joined the forum so I'm having a wander around. :D I'll agree with Bhikkhu Pesala; it really is a hideous 'font'. The trouble with type treatments like that is that although they are supposed to look like a degraded or DIY screenprint or photocopy as soon as you n...

Re: copyrights
My main interest would be creating display typefaces from old lettering and specimen books so I'm not sure where the law, especially in the UK, would lie on this. I see this more as keeping old type alive than stealing as I don't autotrace or anything like like that, I simply use the existing font a...

Albers Combinatory Letters
This will be one of the first typefaces I intend to make into a font file (if I get the hang of Font Creator when it arrives). Joseph Albers designed it in 1926 and I was lucky enough to see a version made of plastic or glass letters at the Bauhaus Exhibition at London's Barbican. I see that P22 hav...

Re: Selling Fonts
You'll understand that as I have still not received my software I'm getting a little worried. Any idea what's causing the hold up?

Re: Selling Fonts
Oops.
Yes, if it looks like the same address but with a typo I would be grateful if you could change it to the one I used to register on the forum as soon as you're able, thanks.
I'd like to spend the weekend getting to know the software.

Re: Selling Fonts
After some gentle persuasion I have capitulated and purchased the Pro edition.
Unfortunately I haven't received the e-mail yet. It's not in my junk box and I can't see how it would have been blocked by my spam settings.

Re: Selling Fonts
Thanks for the prompt reply. I still don't understand the reasoning or the logic bhind the restrictions. Having looked at all of the free and reasonably priced font editors I'll have to go with Type Tool as it seems to be the only one I can drage AI vectors into, install on Windows and use commercia...
