Re: Automatic Diacritics

Thank You Bhikkhu Pesala and Erwin for the quick responses! I'm having trouble understanding what to do from step one, having the base glyph and the accent glyph prepared. From there I'm not sure what to do. The tutorial was not helpful as it seemed to be illustrating step 10 when I haven't got to s...

Automatic Diacritics

Hey All! This may have already been asked but I'd like to know if there is a way to automatically create a diacritic using the letter and the diacritic. For example if I create a letter 'U' and an accent '`'. Can a glyph be prepared to automatically combine these two glyphs to create a 'Ù'. Then is ...

Re: Shadow

Thanks Bhikkhu Pesala,

That's a bummer but it's good to know my limits.

Thanks again!

Merry Christmas

Re: Shadow

Merry Christmas! I looked up that thread Bhikku Pesala but that is not the kind of shadow I want. These are two pics one with no shadow and one from Microsoft windows effects. I'd like to make my font look like the Word version for other programs. I tried to do it on my own but I don't understand th...

Shadow

Season's Greetings all,

There is a shadow option that I like to use with my font in Microsoft Word 360. Is it possible to add the shadow in my font so that users who don't know how can benefit from the shadow feature. I don't mind no longer having no shadow in my font.

Thanks

Balava

Bhikku Pesala, How are you doing. I just wanted to say that I just looked into your fonts and I'm blown away. I totally go humble seeing just the perfection, organization, completion is just gorgeous. Balava was just amazing! Have you gone public with it? You should!!! Great job my friend!! Blessing...

Re: Calt and Kerning for Iphone 8 Plus ios 13

Erwin, a month ago I didn't even know what pages was. I didn't realize I had it on my phone. Incredibly my font works, kerning and calting just fine! I doubt there is a way to make my font the system font, but I'll look into it and report if successful. Thanks for the introduction to Pages. Blessing...

Re: Calt and Kerning for Iphone 8 Plus ios 13

Erwin,

Sorry I've not followed up sooner but to answer your question, I borrowed a Mac from a friend and it works in Pages. Does this help?

Thanks!

Re: Advanced Fractions

Thanks Bhikkhu Pesala. I haven't updated to v. 12. I'm still using 11.5...that may be the reason I can't seem to find the graphic of Generate and Update OpenType Features. I did select the frac in the Features in the OTD and it added a box with a check mark called "frac". Now that I've don...

Re: Advanced Fractions

Hey Bhikkhu Pesala

Thanks for responding to my query so quickly. I'm afraid I need a simpler set of instructions of how to use frac. I'm completely lost.

Thanks.

Advanced Fractions

Jonne here. I'm getting into fractions. I've done the easy ones 1/4 1/2 3/4 using alt-codes. However I can't seem to figure out how to do other fractions. I searched the web for the alt-codes but I only find unicode. Could someone please get me started on what I need to do for other fractions. Your ...

Re: Font getting cutoff in FontCreator, Windows, and others

Jonne here. Happy Thanksgiving all! I think I've figured out how Windows treats foreign fonts. Windows seems to never have been intended to use anything but Segoe at 9 to 10 points (in List View). It is more pliable with most other views. I'm using Winaero Tweaker to change different compartments of...

Re: Standards for Bold Weights

I ment the effects to thin and bold in the Opentype Designer I believe it is called. It's where most of the calt features are.

Standards for Bold Weights

Jonne Haven here. I'm near complete my font and I need to make a bold version because I do not like what Windows 10 does to bold the glyphs I've worked hard on. Is there a standard out there? Any ideas how to maintain the aesthetic quality of the original. Are there any suggestions as to what settin...

Re: Font getting cutoff in FontCreator, Windows, and others

Thanks for your replies. It seems that windows doesn't allow for any modification that I'm aware of the font size working with it because even the default font, Segoe, cuts off if changed to anything above 9 point. Does anyone know more about this? I have tried scaling down my own font using FontCre...
