I think they are good ideas.
I have made some fonts that I would like to make variations in x height for example.

Re: Rounding Corners
The above works well! Below I converted the right side of a rough oval -single point off-curve sides- to two point off curve sides. Starting with the circled point, 1 A adds a point at mid point, F makes it off-curve, 2 [/color]W advances to the next point, 3 A adds the next point at mid point, F ma...

Re: Construction "background"
I open a glyph window, View, Toolbars, Background (F9).
Also a "Shapes Font" accessed through -Tools, Options, Sample- is very handy to drag in whatever you want.

Re: Search for duplicate and invalid fonts
@ Jan, My problem is that I possibly have 5,000-10,000 dups that were stolen and re-named by others that I don't want in my collection. I don't want to push a button and lose years of collected fonts by accident. From my point of view I was not asking "High-Logic to dismiss"your "requ...

Re: Show file locations
That is why the fonts I use are in folders and files so I can find the one I want. Does it really matter if you use folders and files (file names) or font groups and fonts (font names)? Cheers, Jan Very much so. My folders are the four Panose groups and sub-folders and sub-sub folders are Panose nu...

Re: Search for duplicate and invalid fonts
Sorry to have offended you Jan, but it got your attention, didn't it. Saving different fonts with the same name to the same folder has wiped out several of my favorite fonts and it took months to relocate the originals. "Similar" means different things to different people. See Panose your ...

Re: Show file locations
We want people to start thinking in fonts instead of folders and files I think about my fonts based on WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. Names are a waste of time. That is why PANOSE is so important to me. That is why the fonts I use are in folders and files so I can find the one I want. Until I get the other 1...

Re: Search for duplicate and invalid fonts
After that we might add another feature to remove similars. "For me it would be enough to check the names" Cheers, Jan That would be disastrous! Lots of names have been re-used by very different fonts. Take Alien for example! And "similars" can be very different and useful. Exac...
