It isn't a big issue we are almost done and the Armenian characters are looking legible and comfortable to read by an Armenian. .TTF files did the job.

Re: Import of .VFB files
The zip file is on it's way to your customer support e-mail. It is a zip file containing the folder which was generated by the UFO export.

Re: Import of .VFB files
I can't help you with that. Font Creator created a folder with sub folders and files, I packed this into a .ZIP file, attached it to an e-mail and sent it. Ruben's response was " Sorry Paul, I was unable to open the UFO files. I tried to use converter, but it the could not be installed. " ...

Re: Import of .VFB files
The UFO file took a long time to export, the size was enormous and then when I sent it to him he couldn't import it !
I think we will stick to exchanging .TTF files.

Import of .VFB files
I am currently collaborating with someone in Armenia on the Armenian character set for my latest font 'Bainsley'. His font editor produces .VFB files which I cannot import into Font Creator so we have to exchange fonts via .TTF or .OTF files. It may be an idea for a future version of Font Creator to...

Re: How to convert standard font to single line font
Fonts with an open contours are meant to be used on CNC engraving machines and when used with such machines they work properly. If you use a font with open contours in normal applications like word processors or desktop publishing then the rendering program cannot process these glyphs and this resul...

Re: Defining two space Characters
The 'standard' space character at $20 is inserted automatically by many programs where the program designer thought it appropriate. If it isn't blank then the glyph will appear. There are a variety of other spaces of various widths in the 'General Punctuation' block at $2000 to $200A but these shoul...

Re: SWF Format
The font files in the game 'Skyrim' are in .SWF format. I wish to replace one of them with my own version of the font.
I know flash is dead but this game still has lots of resources in .SWF format, including the fonts and if I want to replace one I have to use the format the game is expecting.

SWF Format
I need to convert a font I have made into .SWF format. There are various online converters which claim to do this but I have yet to find one that actually works. I could buy Adobe Illustrator but that would be hideously expensive just to convert one font. Does anyone have any thoughts on how this mi...
Re: Balgruf
Of course it is OK :D If I had wanted to stop people from using it as a starting point for derivative works I would have put it under a different license. Please feel free to use any of my fonts as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. And that goes for everyone else as well. Enjoy ! 8)
Re: Balgruf
It's not being kind, it is implicit in the license.
Re: Balgruf
William, I assume that being a member of this forum you have access to a font editor. Balgruf is licensed under the SIL Open Font License which means you can download it and edit the font as much as you want, you can add any characters you like and make any modifications you like. But if you make an...

Re: Recommended Reference Book
Some while ago a well meaning friend got me a book because he knew I was into fonts. ' Just my Type ' by Simon Garfield isn't really about typeface design just examples of various typefaces and their usage. It sits on my bookshelf unread, once or twice I have taken a quick look through it but I doub...
Re: Balgruf
In Skyrim the game by Bethesda Jarl Balgruuf the Greater is the Imperial Jarl of Whiterun and resides in Dragonsreach. Balgruf is a similar but different name but implies a connection with the game Skyrim. It has deliberately been spelled differently. It does not contain the characters wynn and yogh...

In the Font Creator manual do a search for 'Complete Composites' and read that section.
