bitmap pattern on font destroy after font is installed

Hello, related to my previous posts i have a lot of observations that i want to clear.

I used a bitmap pattern(bmp),import it to font creator program.
The imported image was good.
After installing the font and use it on our application some has altered look.(some part of the bitmap destroyed)
example: im only editing numbers 0-9 of Perpetua.ttf
after installing the font, numbers like 2,4 etc have parts of it that are not good.

I will email erwin the .ttf file that im using.

As you might understand I’m not able to post it, as it is legally not allowed. Here is the copyright noticed from the file:

“Digitized data copyright The Monotype Corporation 1991-1995. All rights reserved. Perpetua is a trademark of The Monotype Corporation which may be registered in certain jurisdictions.”

Unless you know otherwise, you should assume all fonts to be copyrighted are works that are someone’s property, and treat them as you would any other software.
If you have created a font yourself (without using anything from other fonts), it is your property.

Here is a screenshot of the digits:

That’s surely a product of the True Type rasterizer. This seems to me to be a natural
consequence of scalable fonts. Fill patterns just don’t work well. Maybe that’s something
to take up with whomever creates the True Type (actually Open Type now) specification

  • give a way of creating a non-scaled fill. But right now, fill patterns just don’t seem like a
strong suit in True Type or any scalable font technology that I know of.
