I just started using this program. (two days into it) Right now, I’m using the unregistered version, so I’m not sure if there is some sort of protection system involved with this or not. I’d like to get the program, but I’m not sure if this problem is going to continue.
Anyway, here is my problem/ problems:
Once I got all the glyphs transfered into the correct boxes, I validated, and installed. But it was not working 100% correct. After typing a couple phrases in MS Word, it would automatically change back to Times New Roman font. I tried re-doing some things with regard to adding some of the same glyphs to other boxes, as I had a feeling that Word was automatically changing some things to a charicter that did not exist in the font that I created. I followed the steps to remove the old version I installed, but the new one would not work at all. I opened the font using Font veiwer, but nothing showed up. The page was completely blank! Yet, when I use the Font test feature in Font Creator, it works fine. I tried removing and reinstalling the font multiple times, restarting my computer, changing the name, creating a new font with coppied over glyphs, yet nothing would work. I could never get it back to the 90% functional way I had it when I first installed it.
I have no clue what I did to make it work so goofy.
One more thing: Even though I have the font removed from Windows Font folder and presumably the hard-drive, the glyphs still show up in Word’s font selection. And when I select it, it types in Arial.
Any help would be apreiciated! Thanks
Paul
Usually a reboot does magic because this kind of problem is usually caused by a corrupt system font table. This is an internal table maintained by Windows. I suspect it was designed with the (incorrect) assumption that font files never change.
If that doesn’t help, do take a look at the font through MainType. It might help locate the problem (e.g. the font is installed into an unexpected folder).
Do let us know your results.
All of the sudden, it seems to work again. It may have been an issue with the computer’s memory when I re-booted the previous times. Once I gave up, I let the computer sit for over thirty seconds (about the time it takes for the memory to clear).
So, with that being said, I probably panicked and did something stupid.
P.S. I appologize for the really dumb spelling error in the previous post.

Thanks for the help and info though.
