Please don’t do this. For me, the reason to use a dark theme is that I have low-vision and this makes a stark white background very difficult to tolerate. There is no point to a half dark, half light (white) theme.
The problem is the same for text editors. Many monitors set to white ( #FFFFFF in CSS ) emit a lot of light. You can turn the brightness down but this affects all programs not just the text editor.
Many people have some difficulty with black letters on a bright white background, the contrast is too stark. This is the reason for dark mode, white letters on a dark background, the majority of the reading area is dark and this is easier on the eyes.
But there is another solution. Black letters on a non white background. Imagine a printed page, the paper doesn’t emit light, it just reflects ambient light. This is much easier on the eyes, black letters on grey (or beige or cream or some other colour) with a little less contrast is much easier to read for long periods of time.
flag works fine. But the white colors of the workspace on a black background burn my eyes out…
besides, there is a small glitch - if i move the workspace with the middle mouse button, it changes its color to inverse and stays that way until i click and drag the mouse with the left button. this is embarrassing.
