I’m surprised a bit that the search for “monitor” didn’t find anything related to my problem, I wouldn’t have thought I’m the first one facing it… I only found out that Themida would be your copy protection scheme.
I just downloaded the demo version and tried to install it on my XP SP3. It won’t install with the error message

A monitor program has been found running in your system.
Please, unload it from memory and restart your program.

after that it hangs so bad that pressing “ok” or “cancel” does nothing, I have to kill it with the task manager.
I thought that “monitor” would be Process Explorer so I exited that one. No use. If the installer complains about my antivirus I will certainly NOT disable that in order to install any utility. Or what else could be that “monitor” thingy? And what is the check for monitors trying actually to accomplish?
