Characters look OK, but RH Side gets cut off when testing.

Hello - Am new to this forum; And to Font Creator as well. My first experience with the program was great. Everything went fine, albeit the non-windows-commands make for a lot of “undos” most times.

My problem is this: Before “Font Creator” I created “Fonts” using Autocad, ( to get all the lines straight and parallel), exported same into “Autosketch”; Saved same as a JPEG and opened this in Photoshop. Then I massaged the JPEG using Photoshop and saved each as whatever letter or character they represented. Each one of these JPEG “Characters” ended up as a HUGE file.

So now, using Font Creator I want to use these JPEGS to create a Truetype Font Set, for obvious reasons. So I started out with a brand new “slate”, offed all the character boxes I won’t be using, and started pasting my “old” JPEG characters in their respective slots.

They look GREAT; Size is “perfect”. But “Test” them and their RH Side is clipped off. :frowning: This even though my RH and LH “dotted lines” are spaced one grid line beyond the character, as you can see in the JPEG I posted at http://www.p-b-l.com/support/SilvertoN-N.jpg

There’s got to be a logical explanation for this, but it somehow eludes me. Has anyone out there besides me had this problem ? Ideas on what to do to “fix” it ?

Thanks a bunch !

Since version 4.2.0.163 there is a feature that should solve your problem. “Set Left Side Bearing at x=0” is an option that will correct the left side bearing when saving a font file.
