Characters not showing in test window or exported font

Hello,

  1. I’m in the process of adding more characters to the JSL font (Regular & Italic). However, after adding characters for Czech & Polish (among others), they show as empty boxes in the test window in spite of the glyphs being present in the project. Needless to say, they won’t show in the exported font either. This has only happened with these two fonts.
I’m totally lost. What could possibly be wrong here?

  2. Another thing. When inserting characters to a font, why sometimes they show with their proper name and sometimes with “uni…”?
    Thanks in advance.

Regards,
V.A.D.

  1. Maybe the Unicode Character Ranges and/or the Code Page Character Ranges are not updated. They should reflect the characters that you included in the font.

  2. You seem to use an older version of FontCreator. The latest version comes with many improvements, including better glyph name conventions. So it is highly recommended to upgrade.

The strange thing is this font is the only one that shows this problem. I’ve been building other fonts that miss Cyrillic or other unicode characters I use. Obviously, they do show the characters when testing them. So I wouldn’t say it’s because of lack of updates. Any other guesses?

irrespective of that, it may be a good time to upgrade. But first I want to read and test all possible solutions.
