In version 6.2 often after the cut contour (knife) selection has been used, the escape key fails to reset the cursor and forces one to close that selection with the mouse. This is frustating. Can you please correct this bug?

I was unable to reproduce this after several attempts. Can you provide a more detailed recipe, and tell us which OS you’re using. Are you using the latest build of FontCreator 6.2 (build 257)?
You say that it happens “often” — is that more often than not, or just frequently enough to be annoying?
I’m not able to reproduce this behavior. Here the Esc key always reverts back to the default (selection) mode. I wonder if it is related to your Windows version; I’m running Windows 7.
