CLSID

Windows 7, FontCreator 6.0. After modification and renaming a font FontCreator refuses to install the font font because a CLSID number seems to be missing. However, it can be installed without any problem by rightclicking the font’s file name in Windows. What’s wrong?

In the ScanaHand support forum a similar problem has been reported. Installing a more recent version of FontCreator doesn’t solve the problem: installing still requires an apparently missing CLSID key.

We will release FontCreator 6.1 tomorrow. That version will solve the problem.

Great! Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the new version, but: the registration key I got for 6.0 is invalid. Do I really need to buy an upgrade?

No worries.

Our mail server is currently sending all existing customers of FontCreator 6 a message that contains information about the free update process. Expect to see an email within an hour.

Apparently for several people the mentioned issue wasn’t solved. It took a while, but we’ve finally solved the issue.
