Hi, I’m a font designer who’s been using FontForge for the past three years to create fonts, my dafont profile is available here: dafont.com/thor-christopher-arisland.d6824.
After getting tired of the crashes and limitations I thought I’d try a proprietary program and picked FontCreator Professional because of your optical metrics, color font support and the ability to copy and paste between FontCreator and Affinity Designer.
When I try to copy and paste between the applications I find that
-
If I copy the curves from a glyph in FontCreator into Affinity Designer the glyph is often very large, when I paste it with the same size back into FontCreator I find that it becomes much smaller, this is very disturbing to my workflow.

Whenever I try and paste a curve from Affinity Designer into FontCreator it pastes it into a far bottom corner, nowhere near the baseline, this has resulted in accidentally adding curves to a glyph that shouldn’t be there, these are often invisible until I export and try it out since it’s so far away from the descender and sidebearings.
Is there anything I can do to make sure that the curve remains the same size when I copy and (most importantly) when I paste the curve into FontCreator, the curve always ends up with the bottom bounding box at the baseline?
