Copying Glyphs

I created a few font files and they do not install in windows.
I have determined after pulling out much hair, that it would be easier if I copied the special glyphs to another font file.

For instance, I took times.ttf, using naming called it MyFont, and saved it as MyFont.ttf
I can now use MyFont.ttf perfectly

Now if I could only copy the about 100 glyphs from the screwed up font file I created to this new MyFont file created from times, I would be home free.
Trouble is, how do I copy almost 100 glyphs from one font file to another?

I searched the forum and it ALMOST addresses this but not quite.
I suspect it is very easy and I am just looking over it.

Help appreciated.

Thanks
David

Best to figure out why your own fonts don’t install.

If you use an existing font, best to use one with an open license.

Just copy the glyphs, create 100 empty glyphs in the target font, and use paste special to copy mappings and glyph metrics as well as the glyph outlines.

I only used ‘Times’ as an example and of course would use an open license font.

Thank you for your reply

I did my original fonts many years ago - probably 2005. As I recall, I removed everything I could to make the file smaller. They worked pefectly in my GDI application but now that I decided to install them in Windows 7, they dont install. I have no idea how to figure out why they don’t install.

Maybe you removed some of the recommended glyphs?

If you attach the font, someone may be able to see what the problem is.
