The following thread might perhaps be of help.

The purpose of this panel would be to scale the imported image before the grid to vector processing takes place. > Windows Metafile (WMF) is an image file format originally designed for Microsoft Windows in the 1990s. The original Windows Metafile format was not device-independent (though could be made more so with placement headers) and may contain both vector graphics and bitmap components. It acts in a similar manner to SVG files. WMF files were later superseded by Enhanced Metafiles (EMF files) which did provide for device-independence. EMF files were then themselves enhanced via EMF+ files.

Something that might be worth trying is to make a Print Screen of your original artwork direct from the original application and paste from the clipboard into Microsoft Paint and then make the image larger within Paint and then save the image as a bmp file and then use that bmp file as the imported image to FontCreator.

I hope that this helps.
