Tell me please. Is it wise to install FC5 over the top of FCP4 or should I uninstall the old first and have a ‘clean’ install?

Good question.
Although installing Font Creator 5 over the top of FCP4 ensures that any options you have set are retained, I recommend to first uninstall all previous releases. This ensures all files no longer needed are removed.
