Hi,
The updated version of FontCreator 14.0.0.2834 [May 12, 2022] still failed to import or open files created in ms volt.
For your reference files are attached and screenshot of error.
1 MUHAMMADI QURANIC 2.01 ( VOLT) 25-02-15.rar (575 KB)
Nafees Naskh v2.01(VOLT project).ttf (955 KB)
Arabtype.volt.ttf (1.89 MB)

Confirmed here. It opens OK in FontCreator 13.

Thank you for reporting this.
It works just fine here, but that is within our development environment. It must be a stupid setting, which should be easy to fix. We’ll get back to this asap.
The first file opens just fine no matter what settings I try, so I don’t know why it fails on your system. Maybe it expects a comma instead of a dot for floating values. I will do some more tests…
Can any of you please install this release and open the font file?
FontCreator 14.0.0.2835 (64-bit)
It will hopefully still fail to open the fonts, but it will generate an error report which should identify the cause of the problem.
You can find the error report afterwards at:
C:\ProgramData\High-Logic\Errors
Do send it to us or post it here.
When I open Arabtype.volt.ttf, I get the error and it fails to open.
As a side note, C:\ProgramData\ is not visible in Windows Explorer; I entered the path in the Windows command dialog to find it.
OMG, there is some debug code that should never end up in a final release! That debug code stores the volt script into a backup folder, but since that folder doesn’t exist on end user systems, it raises an exception.
I will release an update asap.
We have just released an update which solves the problem. Thank you both for sorting this out so quickly!
All good now. The font imports OK as it did in FC13.
Thanks Erwin Denissen
for such a fast support
