Hi!
I am using version 2872 of the program. I can export the roman version of the font I designed and install it on the computer without any problems. However, although the italic variant of the font can be exported as italic, I could not install it on the computer because it did not receive the italic name. Is there a problem with the export of the program or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.
It seems your italic masters do not have a correct value for the italic axis.
The settings in the Master tab are as in the picture. The problem is that the exported file cannot be saved with its italic name.
Well, take a look at the Axis Location, as the Italic value should be 1, but it is 0.
Also do you export masters or instances? If Instances, then also make sure that has correct values.
I also tried the zero values in the master tab, the result did not change. I tried again and the result is as in the picture below.
I also tried the zero values in the master tab as “1”…
So, you have two different font projects?
One regular and one italic?
Then you need to add the Italic axis as a Global Axis in both fonts.
Within the regular variable font, add axis value:
Regular ital 0 Elided
and for the Italic one:
Italic ital 1
Hi Mr. Erwin,
I have already tried what you said. I tried again after you wrote, but the result did not change as seen in the pictures below.
You have added a common Italic axis, used within a variable font. You need to delete it and then add a global one, which is used among several font files.
Hi Mr. Erwin!
First of all, thank you for your help. I know I’ve been keeping you busy today. I did what you said. I added a global axis but still the variation file I exported didn’t get the italic name. Could there be a bug in the program? I’ve been struggling with this issue since yesterday.
Do send us both font projects and we will look into it.
I am encountering the following error on the site even though I have been trying to upload the project files many times.
The forum will accept font project files with and *.fcp extension.
*.zip and *.7z are also accepted. I don’t know about *.rar archives.
I am trying to submit project files by opening a ticket. I even tried to send the files with .ttf extension, but I keep getting an error message.
Sorry about this, we recently upgraded the server, and it seems to have some issues. We have made some changes to the ticket system, so you should now be able to attach most common files formats.
I send the files. Thans so much.
We have received the files and can confirm the issue. Expect a fix soon.
Thank you Mr. Erwin.
We have just released an update that should fix this issue.
Thank you very mach. The problem is solved. I’m very happy.
