I hope I am at the correct forum, I apologize if I am not..
I purchased FontCreator 5.6 I don’t know how many years ago but now it seems to be messed up and I’m not sure how it got that way because I haven’t tried to make a font for awhile.. the dialog box that comes up when you go to name the font, some of the words overlap the next line of words ..

is there a repair or is there anything I can do about it besides purchase a newer version??
I went ahead and tried to create a font but when I double clicked the letter A, the Import Image was inactive and I wasn’t able to do anything..
thanks for any help
This is a common problem in FontCreator. The dialogue font is too big for the allowed text area because you’re using a Large Fonts setting, or 120 dpi, or a non-standard system font.
The only way to fix it is to use a smaller font in Windows. Its a problem for us short-sighted users. My Windows system font is Verdana 10 instead of the standard Tahoma 8 but I don’t use Large Fonts or 120 dpi. This is how my New Font dialogue looks:

For your other question — make sure that the glyph you opened is not a composite glyph. Otherwise, the image import icon should not be greyed out, and will open the import image dialogue.
thank u so much!!! .. what a relief! I should have known it was my own doing.. lol
I appreciate your quick reply
