Font Help with CharMap and Customization

First off to the creator of this progrsm, thank you for creating a great program. My question is a little weird and you may not be able to help but if you can i greatly appreciate it. Anyone who may be able to help me with this, is more than welcomed to post and give me a clue. Okay, here is my problem. I downloaded a Star Trek font and installed it in Windows font folder. When i goto start/run and type charmap its there.

I used Font Creator 5.5 to open an existing font called MS PMincho. I opened the Star Trek font, choose the glyph i wanted, then did a copy paste over an existing glyph in MS PMincho. I installed the new MS PMincho font. When i type start/run charmap and look for MS PMincho, the Star Trek symbol is there exactly where i put it and eveything seems fine.

Here is where it gets a little complicated. I am using this Star Trek font on a game i have called Counter Strike Source. I can use fonts from MS PMincho in the game to make my name in the game unique. The problem is that when i do a copy paste from charmap and copy the new glyph into the game, all i get is the original symbol which is a Basic Latin Z. In other words my Star Trek symbol which shows up in charmap, will not showup in my game. Does anyone know why?

Also, i edited the snowman glyph from MS PMincho with Font Creator 5.5 and installed the new font but when i goto charmap and open MS PMincho the snowman is still in his original form. However, when i open the file back up in Font Creator 5.5, the snowman is edited just like i changed him. Is it possible to overwrite Microsofts fonts with new created pictures? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading this far and sorry if i gave anyone a headache

I think your problem may be that the font is already installed.

If that is the case, the font must be un-installed, changed, then re-installed.

Sometimes you need to re-boot or re-start your computer for changes to show up.

Please let us know if this takes care of the problem.

Hey, thanks Dave  . What i ended up doing was i created a new foint called Testing as opposed to overwritting the old one and it worked. As for the game, well i believe that the game loads up specific fonts during launch as to not use up a lot of system memory and unless i specify in the specific .RES document (or perhaps a different document) :open_mouth: what fonts are allowed to be called by the game, it will not register in the game. I noticed that not every font inside of windows is allowed to be executed in-game.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out
