Font problem

At me such problem. At the first opening of a test window the font in it is displayed normally. At the subsequent opening the font looks as in the 2.jpg . After removal fcppreview.txt all looks again normally, but only once. Prompt, whether it is possible to correct it somehow?

I’m not able to reproduce this problem. Can you please let us know what version of FontCreator you are using?

I’m using v5.6. Can u tell me, maybe some of Windows properties are wrong ? I’m trying to edit fcppreview manualy, but it’s working only for one time again.

Please uninstall your copy of FontCreator as it is either corrupt or you have installed an illegal version. Then do install the latest release as available on our download page:

I’ve download and install FontCreator from your website. I’ve reinstall it, but it’s dosen’t help.

ok. I found the reason of my trouble. I’ve Win XP SP3 english version, but in regional and language options i have russian language. If i switch it to english language (language for non-unicode programs and regional options) FontCreator working properly. But, i need russian language. What can i do with it ?

Is Unicode support enabled in FontCreator? Tools, Options, General tab.

Yes

The Cyrillic Alphabet, which is used for Russian, is located within U+0400–U+04FF within the Unicode code point map.

The following document has a section, section 7.4, about Cyrillic.

All chapters are available from the following page.

The code chart is available as follows.

That code point chart is linked from the following page.

Are you seeking to produce a Unicode font or to produce an old format font to use with an application program which does not support Unicode?

I hope that this helps.

No, i’m just need font editor for my work. And one of them is FontCreator. Now i’m just testing it on simple fonts like Arial and got problems with composites glyphs.

I have read all these articles, but a problem at me not with russian fonts, namely with the latin. Screenshots which I have given have been made with use of the latin alphabet. It seems to me that FontCreator clashes with WinXP at saving of a text file from the test window. At switching all parametres on English language (in WinXP language options) all works. At return on russian again there are same problems. Help me :frowning:

Please download and install version 5.6.

I’ve downloaded it and got same problem.

Do give it a try while you’ve disabled Unicode support in FontCreator. Also don’t edit the preview file, enter text inside the test dialog.

OMG i found how to resolve my problem :open_mouth: I’ve changed only formats to English(US)in regional options menu of WinXP and then open test window in Font Creator. It makes a basic test file. Then i switch back to russian formats (date, time, etc.) and FontCreator working properly. :open_mouth: But how “Regional formats” can make this bug i don’t know  tyvm for trying to help me.

It’s good to know the problem is solved. I’ve now closed this topic.
