I am requesting that if at all possible the font rendering speed to be sped up. It is markedly slower than it was in FC13. I know it may not sound like a big deal but when exporting 7 fonts over and over again throughout my work process, the seconds add up.

Agreed. It is a lot slower, and the “Improved compression” is negligible: 6.03 Mbytes for 12 files vs 6.04 Mbytes with FC13.
Export All Formats
Exporting Verajja to 12 files from FC13 = about 10 seconds
Exporting Verajja to 12 files from FC14 = about 25 seconds
We have just released an update that should perform better on exporting fonts. Let us know your results.
Exporting four styles of Verajja to 12 font files now takes about 12 seconds.
Rendering speed is still not close to what it was in FC13 for me.
Exporting 6 fonts to 6 files in FC13 = 8 seconds
Exporting the same 6 fonts to 6 files in FC14 = 19 seconds
